A standard internal installation is the final step in connecting your home to V4 Consumer's high-speed fibre optic network. Here’s what you can expect during this process:
Drilling and Cable Entry
- Entry Point:
The V4 Consumer installation team will drill a hole through your external wall at a suitable entry point to bring the fibre optic cable inside your premises.
- While the point of entry is determined by the installation team, we will take your preferences into consideration whenever possible.
Connecting the Modem and Router
- Location of Equipment:
The modem and router will be installed within the room where the fibre enters your premises. This ensures the best possible connection and minimal disruption.
- Fibre Cabling:
Up to 5 metres of internal fibre cabling will be provided to position the equipment in a suitable location within the entry room.
Cable Placement
- Neat Installation:
The fibre cable will be carefully tacked against walls and skirting boards to keep it secure and out of the way.
- This may involve tacking the cable along both inside and outside walls to ensure a clean and efficient installation.
A standard internal installation is designed to be quick, efficient, and minimally invasive, providing you with a reliable connection that’s ready to deliver high-speed broadband throughout your home.
